A Tempting Tuesday recipe

For the longest time, I could not accept brownies. I felt they could not make up their mind. Are you a cake? No. A cookie? No and definitely not a biscuit.

Who are you? What are you?

An inbetweenie – A brownie.

I have new found respect for brownies with this recipe. It’s simple and easy to make.

125g butter, 100g dark chocolate bits, 25g milk chocolate bits, 1/2 cup gluten free plain flour, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/6 cup baking cocoa, 1/4 tsp baking powder, 2 eggs.

Heat oven to 160/180 C.

Line loaf tin with grease proof paper. Melt choccie bits and butter in a bowl until combined. Add brown sugar and mix. Then add cocoa, baking powder and most of the flour. Add lightly beaten eggs, mix. Finally, add the rest of the flour, stir until combined.

Pour batter in tin and bake for 30-35 minutes.

If you make this right, when you bite into it, there will be a crunch then your teeth will sink into the moist chocolatey centre and yuuuuuuuuum! Crunchy exterior, decadent moist centre. Perfect! Enjoy!

Heart-shaped brownie

Ps They do freeze well. You lose the crunch but ah well! just make another fresh batch.
